
Girona
The province’s capital, Girona,
just 45 minutes drive, is definitely worth a visit. It is not only a major
shopping city, but Girona also offers visitors an unique ancient town with the
best preserved Jewish quarter of Europe after Prague. A walk through the streets
and alleys is as memorable as the views of the city from the city walls. Visit
the Gothic cathedral, the largest single-nave church in the world or have a
deserve fresh air break at the famous Ramblas.

Monestery St. Pere Roda
An important and unique monument complex from the
Catalan Romanesque Architecture. A Benedictine monastery with architectural
elements from the time of Charles The Great in The Caliphs, and elements
in Lombard Romanesque style from de XI century.
The monastery is located in the mountains near
Port de la Selva, from where you will enjoy the amazing views of the Golfo de
León.

Dali Museum
The Dalí Museum, was one before the former
home of the painter where he also passed away in 1989, is the most visited
museum in Catalonia. The Museum located in a structure that once was the old
town theater and was later enlarge with the Gorgot Torre, now called Torre
Galatea.
Especially worth to see are the main dome, the group of statues
formed by a boat of Gala on top of a taxi and famous works as the Bread Basket
and Gala looking at the Mediterranean Sea. From the ground floor people access
the vault where the artist is buried and the private collection of Dalí
is located on the last floor.

Ruins of Empuries
An archaeological site located next to the village of Empúries
L'Escala. The archaeological remains lie at sea and were ounce the foundations
of the Greek City Emporiom and later the Roman city Emporiae.
Greeks first
settled in this region around 600 BC., a rocky island now connected to the
mainland called Palaiapolis (Old Town). In Neapolis, the second expanded
excavated Greek settlement of rectangular design, still preserved remains of the
wall sheltered harbor.
In the Roman city establish later by Escipio in 219
BC, are preserved remains of the amphitheater and some villas with mosaics. Also
there are remains of an early Christian church (4th or 5th century) and the
fortifications of Church of Sant Martí.
